Burglaries Are Reported
A burglary, and several theft by taking reports have been taken in the last week. The burglary, on Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, was of electronics—a DVD player and XBox were reported stolen.
On Crow Court in Turtle Cove, a resident reported his work trailer and tools were missing. A resident on Blue Heron reported the theft of multiple household items, and arrests have been made in conjunction with the report, but the incident is still under investigation.
Lastly, at 311 Wyatt Road, a resident reported several prescription drugs missing.
A number of people were booked into the Jasper County Detention Center in the last week on various charges. Those people, and their charges, include:
•Bruce Todd Trumbauer, 52, Monticello—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain lane.
•Tony Garnett Brannon, 48, Monticello—affray.
•Amanda Sue Custer, 35, Monticello—possession of methamphetamine, possession of Schedule IV controlled substance and drugs to be kept in original container.
•Joe Kenneth Cartledge, Jr., 52, Monticello—possession of Schedule IV controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine and drugs not kept in original container.
•Madonna Kay Houchin, 46, Byron—hold for warrant in Houston Co.
•Mario Andres Smith, 34, Decatur—child support.
•Marion Sands, 57, Monticello—affray.
•Christopher Larkin Batchelor, 48, Monticello—theft by receiving stolen property (two counts) and hold for warrant in Rockdale Co.
•Alex Kelvin Carter, 53, Monticello—probation violation and obstruction of an officer.
•Zachary Nathan Mellin, 20, Monticello—possession of marijuana less than an ounce and possession of open container in vehicle passenger area.
•Sarah Christina Cave, 17, Flovilla—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain lane.
•Thakedus Kavar Simmons, 36, Monroe—driving while license suspended or revoked, failure to stop at stop sign and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs-less safe.
•Terry Van Ray, 64, Monticello—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, open container and failure to maintain lane.
•Robert Wayne Gafford, 66, Mansfield—possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
•Catherine Thurmond, 53, Monticello—probation violation.
•Christopher Montez Thomas, 20, Monticello—aggravated battery, battery, and cruelty to children in third degree (two counts).
•Terry Durand Brown, 39, Mansfield—Jasper County Superior Court failure to appear bench warrant.
Also, during the last week, deputies responded to 367 calls for service.
