Evelyn Ruth Hibberts Cooper
Evelyn Ruth Hibberts Cooper, age 72, of Monticello, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, at her residence.
Evelyn Cooper was born in Cartersville, Ga., to the late John Franklin Hibberts and Delahan Delizza Hite Hibberts. She lived in Columbiana, Ala., before moving to Monticello in 2010.
She loved working her crossword puzzles, and she loved animals. She always said, “If you feed the animals, God will feed you”. Her most joy was making sure her family and friends were well cared for and well fed. Her most prized possession was her Bible.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Bill Pickel and Frank Lawrence Cooper; daughter, Kathy Locklear; and granddaughter, Jennifer Pickel.
She is survived by her children, William Pickel of Cartersville, Eddie Pickel of Eatonton, Karen Albertson of Monticello, Joey Pickel of Douglasville, and Scotty Pickel of Cartersville; grandchildren, Josh Pickel, Dennis Pickel, Matthew Pickel, Christopher Pickel, Brian Pickel, Amber Albertson, David Albertson, Justin Pickel, Britteny Buck, and Jay Strickland; great grandchildren, Davin Pickel, Hendlee Pickel, Alexander Pickel, Abigail Pickel, Peyton Pickel, Phoenix Pickel, Lauren Pickel, Karma Albertson, Desteny Pickel, Dusten Pickel, Hunter Pickel, Brooke Buck, Kynzee Buck, and Kaylee Buck; honorary great grandchildren, Brittany Ann Harrington, Seth Harrington, Hannah Harrington, and Dylan Harrington; and brother, Troy Hibberts of Cartersville.
A graveside service will be held Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015, at 3 p.m. at Williams Payne Cemetery in Monticello. Rev. Craig Portwood will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015, at Jordan Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Dennis Pickel, Matthew Pickel, Christopher Pickel, Justin Pickel, Brian Pickel, and Josh Pickel.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers donations be made to The Gideons International, Jasper County Camp, 2460 Dumas Road, Hillsboro, GA 31038.
