THREE INJURED

Bethel Church Road at Hwy. 212 west of Monticello was again the site of an automobile accident Saturday.
This time, Mark Stone of Mansfield was driving a 2006 Nissan Sentra north on Bethel Church Road, approaching Hwy. 212. Meanwhile, Felicia Hall of Sparta was driving a 1997 Nissan Pathfinder west on Hwy. 212.
Mr. Stone said he stopped at the stop sign, and failed to see the oncoming car, and proceeded, according to the report from the Georgia State Patrol. When the two cars collided, Mr. Stone’s car skidded and came to a rest in the middle of Hwy. 212.
The trooper determined Ms. Hall’s vehicle traveled some 143 feet before coming to rest off the road next to trees (above, right) Three people were injured in the accident.
County officials have asked state officials to look at the intersection and are requesting it become a four-way stop, as several accidents have occurred there in the last year.
