Grand Jury Returns True Bills
A Grand Jury convened Monday in Jasper Superior Court under the jurisdiction of newly appointed Ocmulgee Circuit Court Judge Alison Burleson.
The Grand Jury considered 27 bills of indictments of which all except one were returned as true bills. The 23 individuals selected and sworn in to serve on the grand jury were instructed and guided by District Attorney Fredric Bright, Assistant District Attorney Brent Cochran, and Victim’s Advocate Michelle Hill.
Indictments include:
•Christopher Bachelor, 14 counts of theft by receiving stolen property all occurring February through December 2014.
•Roderick Carter, 11 counts including one count possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, four counts of illegal substances near schools, one count of possession of a schedule I controlled substance, one count of possession of schedule II controlled substance, one count of possession of dangerous drugs, and three counts of sale of marijuana all occurring April through May 2014.
•Jessie Hardeman, nine counts including two counts of possession of methamphetamine, two counts of possession of marijuana less than an ounce, one count theft by receiving stolen property, one count obstruction of an officer, and three counts possession of a firearm by convicted felon all occurring between March through May 2014.
•Charles Roseboom AKA Charles Fehil and Ayla Marie Roseboom, eight counts including one count identity fraud, three counts theft by receiving stolen property, one count printing fictitious checks, one count possession of methamphetamine, one count obstruction of an officer, and one count giving false information to a law enforcement officer all occurring in November 2014.

•Ellis Ammons and Deandrea Yvette Jackson, seven counts including Ammon’s three counts of sale of cocaine, one count possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, one count possession of marijuana less than an ounce, and possession of a firearm by convicted felon; Jackson’s one count possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, one count possession of marijuana less than an ounce, and one count possession of scheduled I controlled substance all occurring between October through November 2014.
•Quantez Desmond Jackson and Samantha Fleming, six counts including Jackson’s one count of sale of cocaine, one count of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, one count possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana less than an ounce, and reckless conduct; Fleming’s one count of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, one count possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of marijuana less than an ounce.
•Jerome Stokes, six counts including three counts sale of cocaine, one count possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, one count possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and one count obstruction of an officer.
•Andrew Mays, five counts including two counts child molestation, two counts sexual battery against a child under age 16, and one count sexual exploitation of children all occurring August through September 2014.
•Evone Benjamin, five counts including one count aggravated assault, one count battery family violence, one count simple battery family violence, and two counts obstruction of an officer all occurring February 2014.
•Adam Glanton, Alvin Taylor, and Christopher Batchelor, five counts including Glanton’s two counts of operating a chop shop and one count of theft by receiving stolen property; Taylor’s two counts of operating a chop shop, one count theft of receiving stolen property, and possession of methamphetamine; Batchelor’s two counts operating a chop shop, one count theft by receiving stolen property, and one county burglary in the second degree, all occurring January 2015.
•Damian Cloud, four counts including one count aggravated child molestation, one count statutory rape, and two counts child molestation occurring January through April 2014.
Travis Farley and Deneisha Farley, four counts including the former’s one count obstruction of an officer and one count terroristic threats and the latter’s one count disorderly conduct and one count obstruction of an officer all occurring December 2014.
•Shawn Jackson, four counts including one count criminal attempt to commit a felony, one count aggravated assault family violence, one count aggravated assault, and one count simple battery occurring November 2014.
•Emma Moore, 11 counts including one count identity fraud and 10 counts theft by taking occurring between February 2011 and January 2013.
•James Johnson, two counts including one each possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and theft by receiving stolen property occurring January 2015.
•Amanda Dial and Shane Griffith, two counts child molestation for performing sexual acts in presence of children under age 16 between July 2011 and December 2013.
•William Lee Clifton, two counts including one count each of possession of controlled substance by inmate and possession of methamphetamine in December 2014.
•Eric Blackwell, two counts including one each child molestation and criminal attempt to commit child molestation occurring November through December 2010.
•Christopher Capell, two counts including one each possession of controlled substance by an inmate and possession of methamphetamine in December 2014.
•Baba Baldeh, Jarvis Carter, and Justin Tyree Parks, two counts of armed robbery for each during December 2014.
•Tyson Carnes and Nathan Smith, burglary in the first degree during August 2014.
•Henry Odom, Jr., aggravated stalking during September 2013.
•Bryan Keith Robinson, aggravated assault during September 2014.
•Gregory Robinson, Jr., burglary in second degree during August 2014.
•David Allen Smith and Kimberly Turner, burglary in first degree during December 2014.
•Diamond Tripp, hindering apprehension or punishment of a criminal during November 2014.
The Grand Jury also reappointed Robert Hayes to the Board of Registrars and appointed Michael Notestone to succeed Marcus Burrow on that board.
The panel also completed a tour of the Jasper County law enforcement center following which made recommendations to the board of commissioners to consider beginning the process of expanding the facility to accommodate growing needs.
