Cougar Soccer Teams Prepare

Piedmont Academy is preparing for its new soccer season.

The varsity boys are scheduled to open the 2015 campaign Tuesday, Feb. 24, against Creekside on the road at 5 p.m.

The Lady Cougars will open the new season on March 3 when both varsity teams host Creekside.

Zach Norris is guiding the soccer programs for 2015.

“Soccer is in full swing here at Piedmont,” Norris said. “Practices are going well. We are trying to stay warm and dry as is any spring sport that is starting this time of year.”

The first-year coach said he believes the varsity boys have the potential to have a strong season.

“We have some returners from last season and a few new faces as well,” Norris said. “We are in a tough region this year, but we should do well and be very competitive. Our kids will play hard and they are excited to get the season going. I am looking forward to getting started to see how we do.”

Piedmont will compete in Region 4-AA for soccer along with Augusta Prep, Gatewood, John Milledge, Monsignor Donovan, Westfield and Westminster (Watkinsville.)
