Diamond ‘Canes Fall to Greyhounds

The Diamond Canes fell 13-3 to the Jones County Greyhounds on the road in the drizzle Tuesday evening.

Michael Wyatt, Jr. and Tyler Seawright shared pitching duties. Wyatt earned 2 strikeouts and 9 first pitch strikes. Seawright had 1 strikeout and 7 first pitch strikes.

Consistent rains have already brought about several revisions to the Hurricane schedule. Three weeks into the start of the season, five match-ups would have been played thus far but weather has reduced that count to two.

Next up for the Canes are Social Circle Friday, March 6 at 5 p.m.. The varsity squad will play a doubleheader Saturday, March 7 on the road in Forsyth. First up will be Mary Persons at 11 a.m followed by Bowdon at 1:30 p.m.

The squad is scheduled to compete in its first region game of the season Tuesday, March 10 at Northeast High School in Macon at 4:30 p.m. On Wednesday, March 11 the team heads to Monroe Area for a 5:55 p.m. contest.
