Marguerite Crenshaw

Marguerite Crenshaw, resident of The Retreat in Monticello, formerly of Lanett, AL, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2015.

Mrs. Crenshaw was born April 14, 1922 in Columbus, GA. Her parents, Wilson and Gladys Barentine as well as a sister, Helen Brown preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband of 77 years, William (Ted) Crenshaw and daughters, Gloria Jean and husband, Charles Ford of Monticello, GA and Sheila and husband Allen Gropp of Berrien Springs, Mich., five grandchildren, Lisa Fuller & Laura Hammonds of Monticello, Lucy Gibbs of Brooks, Mark Gropp of Woodstock, and Mike Gropp of White Pidgeon, MI, 15 great- grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Prior to their move to Monticello, GA, Ted and Marguerite lived in Lanett, AL for 75 years. They were members of the Community Chapel Church of God. Marguerite retired from the Interstate Telephone Company, West Point, GA in 1985.

She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Great-Great-Grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 1 p.m. EST at the Community Chapel Church of God in Lanett with Rev. Loren Sutton officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Johnson Brown-Service of Lanett, AL directing.
