‘Cane Tennis Heads to State

The Hurricane girls and boys tennis teams garnered victories at their region tournaments placing them at a respective third seed for our region.

Both teams beat Putnam to clinch a place in the state playoffs. In round two, the girls fell to Bleckley County and boys fell to Lamar County. Both girls and boys went to round three and beat Macon County for the third seed position.

Coaches Hung Cole, Patty Cole, and Stephen Hopper stated, “Both teams have worked hard this year and the players have improved their level of play since the beginning of the season. We are proud of them and their accomplishments. We look forward to seeing them play next week at the first round state tournament.” The date is to be determined.

Players include Madison Fish, Calli Lumpkin, Brandi McMichael, Samantha Johnson, Seth Pettis, Noah Hanson, Taylor Wages, Kirsten Pettis Caleb Usry, Miranda Wade, Ryan Nelson, Colton Braswell, Levi Ford, and Joseph Johnson.
