Motion Day Conducted

Jasper County Superior Court reviewed a small docket of criminal cases Tuesday morning during a motion day calendar call. Judge Trenton Brown, III, presided over the court sentencing the following:

•James Lawrence Alford, 30 days in jail with remainder of three year sentence on probation for guilty plea of possession of methamphetamine, $500 fine.

•Marvin Craig Ash, four years on probation for guilty pleas for possession of methamphetamine, driving under the influence, and driving while license suspended, $1,200 fine.

•Quentin Mitchell, 12 months on probation for guilty pleas to criminal trespass and disorderly conduct, $200 fine.

•Michael Thomas Hinton, 120 days in jail for violating probation due to failed drug tests and incomplete community service.

•Jacob Lee Holland, 120 days in jail for violating probation by repeated failure to report to probation officer, failure to perform community service, failure to complete substance abuse evaluation, and failure to pay fines.

•Artagus Manning, 30 days in jail for violating probation by committing new offense of sale of marijuana.
