ANOTHER ACCIDENT

Hwy. 212 west of Monticello and Bethel Church Road was again the site of a fairly serious accident Saturday morning. Vehicle 1 (right) was a 2002 Toyota 4Runner driven by Nicholas James Howard of Loganville, according to the report from the Georgia State Patrol. Vehicle 2 (above) was a 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe C1500 driven by Tina LeeAnne Parker of Covington.
The report said that vehicle 1 was stopped at the stop sign on Bethel Church Road, and vehicle 2 was traveling west on Hwy. 212. The driver of vehicle 1 said he thought it was a four way stop, so after stopping he proceeded into the path of the Tahoe and was subsequently hit by the Tahoe.
The two vehicles collided in the middle of the intersection, and the 4-Runner came to rest not far from the point of impact, whereas the Tahoe continued across the road into the embankment on the south shoulder of the road. Several people were injured, and two were transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital. Vehicle 1 had a driver and three passengers, and there were four passengers in vehicle 2.
