Howard Rudolph “Buddy” Dove

Howard Rudolph “Buddy” Dove, age 78, of Monticello, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2015 after an extended illness.

A native of Chicopee (Gainesville), Buddy was born on December 28, 1936 to J.B. and Ruby Dove.

Buddy owned and operated a number of businesses in the automotive industry including car sales and auto parts sales. He enjoyed traveling, making it to 49 out of 50 states and spending time with his family at “the farm.” He will truly be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, LaFerne Dove of Monticello; daughter and son-in-law, Vanessa and Michael Hough of Monroe; sons and daughters-in-law, Rusty and Kim Dove of Hoschton, Rudy and Lisa Dove of Covington and Randy Dove of Monticello; daughter, Bianca Dove of Monticello; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great- great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Darla Dove of Ellijay; sisters, Kay Dove and Jaynell Dove, of Brunswick; and brother-in-law, Clay White of Flowery Branch.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Bill Head Funeral Home, Lilburn/Tucker Chapel, with Rev. Danny Sorrells officiating. A graveside service will be held at at Alta Vista Cemetery in Gainesville.
