Ralph Wade Jarrett, Sr.

Ralph Wade Jarrett, Sr., age 86, of Monticello, died Thursday, June 11, 2015, at his residence.

Ralph Jarrett was born in Atlanta, to the late Thomas Wade Jarrett and Laura Cedonia Coker Jarrett. He lived in Decatur until moving to Monticello in 1991.

Before retirement, Ralph was an auto body repairman for Timberlake Toyota in Decatur. He loved to watch car races and wrestling on the television.

Ralph Jarrett was an active member of New Bethlehem Baptist Church and his work in the church was a true testament to his faith in the Lord. Ralph loved his family.

A daughter, Donna Lynn Jarrett Thompson; and sisters and brother, Frances Lewis, Catherine Barron and Weyman Jarrett preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Chaffin Jarrett of Monticello; children, Brenda Faye (Charles) Burns of Haileyville, Ala., Steve (Scottie) Jarrett of Covington, Ralph Wade, Jr. (Tammy) Jarrett of Monroe, Ricky Leon (Cricket) Jarrett of Rome, David Lamar Jarrett of Monticello and Linda Gail Ward of Monroe; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 13, 2015, at 10 a.m. at Fairview Memorial Gardens 376 Fairview Road Stockbridge, GA 30281. Rev. Charlie Edwards will officiate.

The family will receive friends Friday, June 12, 2015, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home in Monticello.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers donations be made to New Bethlehem Baptist Church 4430 Jackson Lake Road, Monticello, GA 31064.
