Arrests Made; Burglaires Are Reported
The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) investigated several incidents in the last week, including burglaries on Hwy. 212 east, from a mailbox on Funderburg Drive, and at The Monticello News<.I> office.
On Hwy. 212, a trailer and tools were reported stolen. A check was allegedly taken from a mailbox on Funderburg Drive, and cash and a camera were taken from The News office. At The News office, the front window was the point of entry, and we are asking anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity to contact The News, 706-468-6511 or the JCSO, 706-468-4912. Persons arrested in the last week, and their charges, include:
•Michael Oneal Lyons, 48, Shady Dale—disorderly conduct and probation violation.
•Shawn Richard Griffith, 29, Covington—probation violation.
•Carolyn Jean Ellis, 38, Covington—battery.
•Roger Len Wilkerson, 47, Monticello — driving while license suspended or revoked.
•Jerry Randall Allred, 45, Dallas—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, operation of unregistered vehicle and no insurance.
•Christopher T. Kim, 23, Duluth—driving while licenses suspended or revoked.
•Taylor Jared Johnson, 25, Mansfield—no seat belt and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
•Share Monique Parks, 25, Stone Mountain—possession of marijuana less than an ounce and open container of alcohol in vehicle.
•Cayetano Fras Jaramillo, 37, Shady Dale—driving without a valid license.
•Michael Lynn Esary, 35, Griffin—operation of watercraft under the influence of alcohol or drugs and operation of vessel with improper lights.
•Reese Elias Zimmerman, 19, Newborn—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs under the age of 21.
•Luke Arnell Zimmerman, 18, Newborn—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs under the age of 21.
•Jennifer Michelle Poore, 31, Monticello—possession of methamphetamine, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, possession of marijuana less than an ounce, possession and use of drug related objects, drugs not in original container and possession of dangerous drugs.
•Molly Jane Gragg, 21, Jackson—failure to maintain lane and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
•Chandler Lacey McCart, 17, Newborn—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs under the age of 21, violation of conditions of a limited driving permit, and reckless driving.
•Akeem Jamaul Miller, 20, Warner Robins—possession of marijuana less than an ounce.
•Frances Allyson Arnold, 44, Monticello — driving while license suspended or revoked, possession of marijuana less than an ounce, fleeing/eluding a law enforcement officer, possession of methamphetamine and reckless driving.
•Joseph Frank Lawson, 52, Shady Dale—possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (30 counts), possession of methamphetamine, possession of Schedule II controlled substance (two counts), possession of Schedule IV controlled substance (three counts), possession of marijuana less than an ounce, aggravated assault and failure to maintain lane.
•Mara Gladdis Davis, 45, Monticello—probation violation.
In all, deputies responded to 483 calls for service, including 141 checking location, 109 stopping suspicious person or vehicle, 27 serve civil papers, 16 pick up prisoner/subject, 15 subject needs aid, 15 road hazard, 13 accident, 13 assist motorist, 12 alarm, 11 mechanical breakdown, 10 license check/road block, nine escort or convoy, seven threatening or harassing calls, six private property accidents, four each welfare check and trouble unknown, three each discharge firearms, fight, three each vandalism, sex offender check, abandoned vehicle, and fight, and numerous other calls for service.
