INTERPRETIVE MARKER

The mayor and city council of Shady Dale will have a dedication ceremony today, July 9, at 6 p.m., for the Georgia Civil War Heritage Trails interpretive marker that was recently erected in that city north of Monticello. The Civil War Heritage Trails initiative began some 15 years ago, and the markers are now in place, with two in Jasper County—this one in Shady Dale and another one in Hillsboro. Everyone is invited.
