The JCSO also issued a press release regarding an investigation into a string of burglaries committed Jasper and Morgan counties that culminated July 17 with Christopher Bernard Pilcher, 41, of Madison, arrested and charged with five counts of first degree burglary, and two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Last Friday JCSO Criminal Investigations Division and Crime Suppression Unit members, in cooperation with the Morgan County and Madison law enforcement agencies, executed a search warrant at Mr. Pilcher’s Madison residence. Items belonging to four burglary victims in Jasper and Morgan Counties were located in a bedroom of the residence. Also found in that room were tools commonly used to break into homes.
Among the items recovered from the Jasper burglaries were a Nikon digital SLR camera, a 42-inch Samsung flat screen television, and several pairs of shoes—adding up to a total of $1,435 in recovered property.
Mr. Pilcher was released from a Coffee County prison in May 2015 for burglary and weapons charges he received in May 2010 and he remains on parole with the Dept. of Corrections. According to past records, he has listed several addresses of residency in Jasper County, and investigators believe he still has ties to the community.
The JCSO and investigators are urging anyone associated with Mr. Pilcher, who may have any information regarding the case or that may have received/purchased any items from him in the past two months, to contact the JCSO immediately to ensure those items are not stolen.
