Back-To-School Rally Is Held

Nearly 500 children registered to receive free backpacks and school supplies Saturday at the annual Back To School Rally and Resource Fair hosted by Family Connection at Washington Park Elementary School.

Some 29 vendors participated, giving out school supplies and information about available resources for families.

Those vendors included City of Monticello Natural Gas, Jasper County 4-H, Northeast Georgia Area Agency on Aging, Jasper County Recreation Department, Jasper County Memorial Hospital, Cedar Creek Baptist Church, Butts County Pregnancy Resource Center, Jasper County Mentor Program, Georgia Military College, Jasper County Department of Family & Children Services, Church At Monticello, American Legion Post #110 and Food Bank.

Also, Girl Scout Troop #60134, Pleasant Grove Baptist Church of Newborn, Towonder’s Beauty Shop, STEPS (Sisters Touching Everything Positive), Insurance Warehouse, Sardis C.M.E. Church, Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, Jasper County Clerk of Courts, Grigg’s Chapel AME Church, Haven House, Spring Ministries, Jasper County Schools, Ferst Foundation & Jasper County Library, U.S. Forest Service, CHIPS, and Jasper County Emergency Services.
