B-Team Cougars Win

Piedmont Academy’s B-Team softball squad had a chance to take the field Monday and the Lady Cougars recorded a 14-2 victory against Covington Academy.

A 13-run second inning proved to the difference for Piedmont.

“This was a great opportunity for the players to get some extra work in,” said coach Daniel Funt. “They took advantage of the opportunity.”

Kylie Garner was 2-for-3 at the plate with two runs while Gracie Hunt was 1-for-2 with a walk.

Deacon Robinson finished 1-for-2 with a run and RBI and Kenzie Rogers was 1-for-1 with a walk.

The two teams will face off again Tuesday, Sept. 1, in Covington.
