MS Lady Cougars Win

Another strong pitching performance by Kenzie Rodgers help lead the Piedmont Academy Middle School softball team to a 6-5 win against Windsor Monday.

Rodgers worked five innings while giving up just two hits.

We played a good game,” said coach Cameron Vaughn. “We made some mistakes early, but kept battling to finish. Defensively, we backed Kenzie up and offensively, we had a good game. We started putting good at bats together in the fourth and fifth innings and came back to win.”

Offensively, Haley Ann Frank had two hits and scored two runs while Ava Anglin drove in two runs. Savannah Taylor doubled while Cally Cook walked twice and scored two runs. Rodgers helped her own cause with a triple.

In the pitcher’s circle, Rodgers had seven strike outs.

The MS Lady Cougars will host Trinity-Sharpsburg on Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 4:30 p.m.
