Deputies Investigate Burglaries

It was a light week for burglaries this week, with only two reports of thefts, and one report of vandalism in the county.

One theft was in town where an appliance was taken off a front porch. The other theft was out in the county off County Line Road, and involved signs and more.

There was also a call for vandalism to a house that is for sale. Countertops and carpet were taken from the home.

Though there were few thefts, several arrests on an assortment of charges were made during the week. Those booked into the Jasper County Detention Center and their charges include:

•Peggy Joann Harris, 54, Flovilla—Jasper County Probate Court bench warrant.

•Joshua Ray Price, 21, Covington—theft by taking and criminal trespass.

•Ricky Hugh Gilstrap, 54, Covington— probation violation.

•Kaci Kristina Wages, 29, Hillsboro—Jasper County Magistrate Court bench warrant and probation violation.

•Kent Raymond Morris, Jr., 33, Stone Mountain—probation violation.

•Gregory Lorosco Thurman, 50, Monticello—probation violation and giving false name, address or birthdate to law enforcement officer.

•Theodore Barley Lockwood, 51, Monticello— driving while license suspended or revoked, giving false name, address or birthdate to law enforcement officer, possession of marijuana less than an ounce, and failure to maintain lane.

•Robert Allen Pope, 34, Newborn—battery, cruelty to children in the third degree, and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.

•Jennifer Chantae Selvidge, 32, Rutledge—battery and cruelty to children in the third degree.

•Amanda Jolynn Singletary, 26, Newborn—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain lane.

•Julius Lamar Martin, 31, Lithonia—probation violation.

•David Wayne Walker, 49, Monticello—Jasper County Superior Court bench warrant.

•Jeffery Clint Purcell, 43, Mansfield: driving while license suspended or revoked, no insurance, headlight violation and hold for warrants at Newton County Sheriff’s Office.

•Joshua Deimon Davis, 23, Monticello—probation violation.

•Alvin Yates, 60, Monticello—disorderly conduct.

•Randall Nelson Oliver, 28, Eatonton—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain lanes.

•Robert Wayne Smith, 56, Monticello—hold for warrant at Newton County Sheriff’s Office.

•Dustin Travis Jeffrey, 21, Monticello—aggravated assault.

•Richard Davis Johnson, II, 27, Monticello—probation violation.

•George Alvin Walker, 62, Monticello—theft by taking.
