Contest Winner Gets 14 Right

Last week’s football contest was not quite as difficult as the previous week as the one clear winner correctly guessed the winner of 14 of the 15 games listed. Another 20 people got 12 or more right to have their names added to the Grand Prize Honor Roll.
The winner was Taylor Fields who actually lives in Macon, so he had his little brother, Justyn, pick up his prize for him from Adam McGinnis of Southern Edge Land and Home, sponsor of the week.
Taylor also won last year and had his little brother pick up the prize. One of these days, little brother is going to pick up his own prize when he outguesses his brother and some 150 other players who want to be the prize winner.
The only game Taylor missed on was GA. Tech’s loss to Duke. He correctly guessed the winners in all the other high school, college and pro games listed.
This week, contest players have another chance to pick up a $25 prize from M.D. HVAC, a local heating and air company.
The contest has been averaging about 150 entrants so far this year, less than sometimes in year’s past, so come on football fans…try your prowess at guessing the winners. It costs nothing to play and you might just win a $25 prize. And, one lucky player will win four tickets to the Chick-fil-A/Peach Bowl in Atlanta on New Year’s Eve.
Just turn to page 12, and fill out the entry form, or use a separate piece of paper, and submit your entry by 5 p.m. tomorrow, Oct. 2, for a chance to win. Entries can be submitted in person to 247 West Washington Street, or by fax to 706-468-6576.
