Helen Timmerman Lane
Helen Timmerman Lane, daughter of Clarence Simpson and Adelaide Arthur Timmerman went to be with our Lord and her beloved husband, John Hartwell Lane on September 27, 2015.
Helen was born on October 23, 1918 in Graniteville, S.C., and graduated from schools in Graniteville and Winthrop College in Rock Hill, S.C. in 1939.
She married John Hartwell Lane of Monticello, Ga., son of William Augustus and Bernice Malone Lane on September 8, 1939.
John and Helen lived in Jacksonville, Fla., Memphis, Tenn., Norfolk, Va., and Charlotte, N.C. with John’s jobs with The Atlantic Company before moving to Raleigh, N.C. where John went into business. They later retired to Aiken, S.C. before moving to Charlotte, N.C..
The family would like to thank all of the staff at Sunrise on Providence and particularly Wilma Petty and Claudia Houston, private caregivers, who have been loyal and loving caregivers for several years.
Helen is predeceased by her husband, John, and is survived by four children: Susanne Lane Wellford and her husband Harrison of Washington, DC; Carole Lane Outwater and her husband Fisk of Charlotte, N.C.; John Hartwell Lane Jr. and his wife Sandra of Charlotte, N.C.; and Margaret Lane Ramos and her husband Ray of Conyers, Ga.
In addition, she is survived by nine grandchildren: Susannah Shakow, Elizabeth Baer, David Outwater, Kristin Gotta, Jennifer Hatley, Shannon Deitz, Michael Ramos, Katie Wiles , and Emily Ramos, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at the family gravesite in Monticello.
