Susan Alberta Conner Armour

Susan Alberta Conner Armour, age 90, of Monticello, died Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015, at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon.

Alberta Armour was born and raised in Madison, Ga., and moved to Monticello, in 1956. Her parents were the late Jessie James Conner and Ruby Elizabeth Stapp Conner. She was a member of the Smithboro Baptist Church.

Alberta Armour was a member of the Pink Ladies organization; and loved to garden. She worked alongside her late husband, James Richard Armour raising chickens and dairy farming.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, Larry Richard Armour and James Leroy Armour, Sr.; daughter, Elizabeth Jane Armour; and eight brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie Gene, Sr. and Arlene Armour of Milledgeville; grandchildren, Andrea Fuller, James L. “Lee” Armour, Jr., Ron Armour, Jr., Nicole Lowery, Dean Griffin, Darryl Griffin, and Rhett Roberts; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 2015, at the Chapel of Jordan Funeral Home. Rev. Joe Ezzard will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m., prior to the service, Friday, Oct. 16, 2015, at Jordan Funeral Home.
