Jannie Mae Battle
Jannie Mae Battle was born on October 23, 1927 in Jasper County, Hillsboro, Ga. to the late Annie Kate Satcher and the late James Ridley.
Jannie was educated in the Jasper County public school system. She was employed for several years at Georgia Pacific Corporation, the Sewing Room and the Tillman House until her health failed her.
On October 17, 2015, the Lord saw fit to call His angel home to live eternally with Him. She is preceded in death by her husband, Roosevelt Battle; one daughter, Dollie Jane Goolsby; one granddaughter, Alice Goolsby; and one grandson, Nigel Griffin.
Jannie leaves to cherish her memories, one son, Joseph Ridley of Monticello GA; four daughters: Lanette Ridley of Smyrna, Clarice (Jimmy) Phillips of Monticello, Zena Robinson Mitchell of Ellenwood, and Dorothy (Melvin) Callaway of Covington, a sister, Geraldine Cliette (Harris) Walker; a brother, Robert Lee Satcher, eight grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. Also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives.
A funeral service was held Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2015 at St. James A.M.E. Church, Monticello.
Final arrangements entrusted to Smith and Sons Funeral Home.
