Charles Edward Davidson

Charles Edward Davidson, age 75, of Monticello, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015, at his residence.

Charles Davidson was born in Gainesboro, Tenn., to the late Hiram Alaska Davidson and Ethel Avo Stafford Davidson. He lived in Hapeville, Ga., before moving to Monticello, 26 years ago.

Before retirement, he worked as a radio dispatcher for the Yellow Cab Company

Charles Davidson is an active member of Callie Fuller Baptist Church and loved being with his church family. He loved reading his Bible, and watching church services on the television.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella Ida Edwards Davidson; daughter, Cynthia Davidson Brock; grandchildren, “Bucky” Stephens and Danielle Reeves; and brothers and sisters, Richard Davidson, Pauline Abbey, Betty Jean Stocks, Mable Willhite, Lewis Davidson, and Jerry Davidson, Sr.

He is survived by his children, Charles Stephens of Newnan, Clint Davidson of Monticello, and Connie (Tommy) Reeves of St. Augustine, Fla.; grandchildren, Meghan Stephens, Stephanie Brock, Casey Stephens, Danny Brock, and Ashley Brock; great-grandchildren, Allie Dewdney, Elizabeth “Lizzie” Matthias, Alex Villa, Liam Critchlow, and Peyton Critchlow; brothers and sisters, Elmer Davidson, Vicki Scott, and Jackie Wallace of Atlanta, Bobby Davidson of Morrow, and Stanley Davidson of Covington; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 24, 2015, at Callie Fuller Baptist Church. Interment will be held in the Callie Fuller Church Cemetery. Rev. Charles Roper will officiate.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Davidson, Jr., Gary Champion, Nick Critchlow, Danny Brock, Casey Stephens, and Kevin Willhite.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Friday, October 23, 2015, at Jordan Funeral Home.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers donations be made to Callie Fuller Baptist Church 2690 Highway 212 West, Monticello, Georgia 31064.
