Charlene Allison Gilmore

Charlene Allison Gilmore, age 67, of Griffin, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015, at Spalding Regional Medical Center in Griffin.

Charlene Gilmore was a lifelong resident of Griffin. Her parents were the late Alton Charles Allison and Martha Frances Vickery Allison. Charlene loved to quilt and sew.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Charles Cobb.

She is survived by her husband, Charles M. Gilmore, Jr. of Griffin; step-children, Odessa Dawn Gilmore and Tony Gilmore; grandchildren, Misty Cobb Washington and Kristy Cobb Woods; great- grandchildren, Aiden Washington and Addison Washington; five step-great-grandchildren; sisters and brother, Martha Dale Coleman, Lila Marconi, and Curtis Mitchell Allison of Griffin; and sister-in-law, Barbara Craig of Monticello.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015, at West View Cemetery in Monticello. Rev. Nathaniel Long will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Monday, Nov. 2, 2015, at Jordan Funeral Home.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the charity of one’s choice.
