Mrs. Eula B. Clemons
Mrs. Eula B. Clemons, resident of Eatonton, age 99, born January 7, 1916 in Monticello, passed away Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015, at Griggs Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, 724 Griggs Chapel Road. The Reverend Melvin Henry will be officiating. Interment to follow at Griggs Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Clemons was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Richard Smith and Mrs. Rose Meriwether Gilham-Smith; husband, Mr. Sidney Clemons; daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Clemons Tinsley; granddaughter, Miss Yolanda Boddie; son-in-law, Mr. Willie C. Boddie and siblings, Messrs. John and Charles Gilham, Mrs. Carrie Smith Bell, Messrs. Theodore, Albert and Anthony Smith.
Mrs. Clemons is survived by her children, Mrs. Dorothy C. Boddie and Mrs. Darlene C. Nash, Atlanta, Ga.; Ms. Rosa Clemons, Eatonton, Ga.; Mrs. Tena C. (Dr. Mac) Stewart, Delaware, Oh.; loving grandchildren Michael, Katrina and Sheri Boddie; Bruce (Trina) and Justin Stewart; Kesha N. (Truyett) Nettles and Kristi Nash; six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson; in-laws Mrs. Mary Smith Johnson, Akron, Oh; Mrs. Maureen Clemons and Mr. Samuel Clements, Eatonton, Ga.; several nieces, nephews and friends.
In memory of Mrs. Clemons, the family suggests a contribution may be made in her name to the Griggs Chapel Church Building Fund and mailed to Griggs Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, 724 Griggs Chapel Road, Monticello, GA 31064.
Contributions may also be designated for the Evelyn Clemons Tinsley and Eula Clemons Endowed Scholarship Fund, which Mrs. Clemons brought to fruition at Paine College, and sent to Paine College, 1235 Fifteenth Street, Augusta, GA, 30901.
