Several Are Sentenced on Motion Day
A brief motion day session was held in Jasper Superior Court on November 24 prior to the Thanksgiving holiday.
Judge Trenton Brown, III presided over the session and the following charges were reviewed and sentencing included:
Robert Darrell Perry, sentenced to two years of probation for theft by taking. Fined $200.
Antonio Juhan, sentenced to 12 months of probation for simple battery, Fined $400.
Probation violations included:
Kathleen Farrell Matthews, sentenced to 60 days in jail and ordered to pay $850 within 90 days of release and complete 74 hours of community service for failure to report change of address, complete community service and pay court fines.
Emily Gail Medina, sentenced to 60 days in jail with credit for 11 days of time served. However upon payment of case balance all but 30 days will be suspended for new charge of public drunkenness in September 2015, failure to report to probation, pay court fines and complete community service.
Kenneth James Wilmot, sentenced to three days in jail for failure to pay court fines and report to probation office.
James Lawrence Alford, sentenced to 100 days in jail suspended upon entry into state probation detention center for 120-180 days for failure to report to Putnam County probation offense.
Ramon Arturo Jackson, sentenced to serve case balance of 263 days in jail for failure to pay court fines, complete alcohol/drug evaluation, and committed new offense of loitering/prowling and public drunkenness in October 2015 and another offense in November 2015 of sexual battery and sodomy.
Tommy Lee Kell, released for time served of 14 days and returned to original probation conditions after failing to pay court fines and being arrested on new charge of criminal trespass in November 2015.
Judge Brown also presided over two divorce hearings, a modification of visitation rights and several child support cases.
