Deputies Investigate Several Thefts
Jasper County deputies are investigating several thefts that occurred over the last week.
A burglary on Falcon Ridge resulted in a washer, dryer, water heater, and several rifles being taken, according to the report from the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO).
Guns were also taken from an address in Monticello city limits, and from an address at 311 Wyatt Road.
A Chevrolet pickup was reported stolen from an address on Rock Eagle Road, and a custom, two-man ladder stand was reported missing from the area of Johnny Fears Road.

Two other burglaries were reported in the city of Monticello, one resulting in headphones being taken, and nothing was reported missing in the other one. A financial transaction card fraud was also reported.
Persons booked into the Jasper County Detention Center during the last week include:
•Austin Michael Holder, 19, Shady Dale—possession of marijuana less than an ounce, tampering with evidence and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.
•Joseph James Brickman, 19, Monticello—obstruction of a law enforcement officer and possession of marijuana less than an ounce.
•Heather Marie Johnson, 34, Monticello—no insurance.
•Brandon Shane Biddy, 19, Monticello—failure to maintain lane and no insurance.
•Andrew Michael Schulte, 28, Riverdale—probation violation.
•William Seth Lansburg, 27, Covington—defective equipment, possession of methamphetamine, violation of exhaust system, giving false name/address or birthday to law enforcement officer, drug related objects and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.
•Lindsey Elizabeth Duncan, 23, Monticello—theft by conversion.
•David Allan Hicks, 33, Monticello—theft by conversion.
•Bart Wesley Ray, 32, Covington—hold for warrant in Rockdale Co.
•Dewayne Lashaun Carter, 31, Monticello—hold for warrant in Newton Co.
•Samantha McKenzie Carter, 19, Monticello—Jasper County Probate Court failure to appear bench warrant.
•Patrick Dean Burnette, 32, Covington—possession of firearm by a convicted felon, drug related objects, possession of marijuana less than an ounce and speeding.
•Anthony Latrell Grier, 24, Forsyth—driving on suspended license.
•Chelci A’Kia Wells, 21, Conyers—impending traffic flow, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
•Michael Andrew Berg, 22, Flovilla—open container, improper stopping on roadway, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
•Dustin Nathaniel Collins, 26, McDonough—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and speeding.
•Austin Hunter Adams, 18, Covington—Jasper County Superior Court bench warrant.
•Carl Jared McCoy, 29, Monticello—cruelty to children.
•Kenneth Marshall Gibbs, 34, Covington—parole violation.
•Demarcus Arkell Sands, 20, Monticello—possession of marijuana less than an ounce.
Deputies responded to 380 calls for service during the week, including 94 checking location, and 82 stopping suspicious person or vehicle.
