Thefts Are Reported; Several Are Arrested

Jasper County deputies investigated several thefts and a couple incidents of fraud in the last week, and homeowners are reminded to be vigilant during the holiday season especially about locking their doors on both their homes and their vehicles.

Several yard tool were stolen from an address in Shady Dale, and firearms were taken from another home on Hwy. 142, those one in Newborn. A firearm was also taken from a home on Cardinal Drive in Turtle Cove. Deputies also responded to an alarm in Hunter’s Ridge, but nothing was reported missing at the time.

Persons booked into the Jasper County Detention Center in the last week include:

•Drew Anthony Cox, 17, Monticello—possession of marijuana less than an ounce.

•Ady Anton Dahod, 17, Monticello—possession of marijuana less than an ounce.

•Aubrey Gordon Adams, 67, Marietta—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain lane.

•Larry Little, Sr., 52, Warthen—probation violation.

•Oscar Bautista, 37, Monticello—driving while unlicensed .

•Tiffany Leigh Tomlin, 37, Monticello—seat belt violation and possession of marijuana less than an ounce.

•Lois Marie Gignac, 52, Newborn—public drunkenness and probation violation.

•John Thomas Hilley, 20, Monticello—possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, theft by receiving stolen property, probation violation and possession of a sawed-off shotgun.

•Roger Len Wilkerson, 47, Monticello—driving while license suspended or revoked and defective equipment.

•Jacqueline Elaine Suttles, 33, Monticello—disorderly conduct.

•Dustin Jerome Pittman, 30, Milton, Fla.—disorderly conduct.

•Michael Wayne Cannon, 41, Monticello—failure to appear bench warrant.

•Martha Sue Pompey, 55, Monticello—simple battery.

•Frances Allyson Arnold, 44, Monticello— criminal trespass, possession of tools for the commission of a crime, drug related objects, possession of methamphetamine and loitering or prowling.
