Curtis Nash, Jr.

A celebration of life for Curtis Nash, Jr.., who died December 22, 2015, was held Monday, Dec. 28, at Springfield Missionary Baptist Church in Newborn. Pastor Moses Little officiated.

Mr. Nash was born August 28, 1955 in Morgan County to the late Curtis Nash Sr. and Lorene Nash. He received his education in the Newton County public school system. He began working at the early age of 13 years old.

He enjoyed the outdoors and was very good with his hands. Mr. Nash joined Springfield Missionary Baptist Church and attended church until his health began to fail. During his lifetime, Mr. Nash made many friends, was always courteous, and was wearing a smile. Even though he was ill he never complained.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Eddie Stanley and Kenneth Lee Hardeman, and sisters, Elizabeth Nash and Louise Hardeman.

Mr. Nash is survived by a loving wife of 40 years, Julia Mae Jordan Nash; three sons, Michael Jordan (Tameka) of Social Circle, Curtis Nash (Sequena) of Newborn and Tory Nash (Latoya) of Monticello; daughters, Shayla Hardwick (Leroy) of Newborn, Curstina Russell (Renzo) and Charly Nash, both of Covington; brothers, Herman Nash (Carol) and John Nash of Monticello; Ray Charles Nash (Michelle) of Covington;, Moses Hardeman (Keisha) of Mansfield, Randy Hardeman of Atlanta, and a God brother, Alvin Yates of Monticello; sisters, Jennie Mae Nash of Monticello, Christina Nash Mitchell and Tina Hardeman, both of Atlanta, 21 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Smith and Sons Funeral Home, Monticello, was in charge of arrangements.
