Marvin Jordan McMichael
Marvin Jordan McMichael, age 85, of Eatonton, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015, at his residence.
Marvin McMichael was a lifelong resident of Jasper County. His parents were the late Henry Hulon McMichael and Lula Mae Patrick McMichael. He was an Elder of
Smithboro Baptist Church.
Marvin McMichael enjoyed woodworking and collecting and trading toy cars. Before retirement, he owned and operated a poultry farm.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Barry Bruce McMichael; brothers, J. W. McMichael and Frank McMichael; and sister, Debra Howard.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-four years, Ruth Tribble McMichael of Eatonton; children, Adam McMichael of Hillsboro, Gail McMichael of Eatonton, and Kim (Rebecca) McMichael of Eatonton; grandchildren, Brandon McMichael, Jesse Davis, Kyle Davis, Amber Davis, Clay McMichael, and Walt McMichael; great grandson, Chandler Morgan; and sisters and brothers, Betty Dickson of Monticello, Ann Andrews of Panama City, Florida, Bobby McMichael of Milledgeville, Hulon McMichael of Monticello, and Dan McMichael of Rutledge.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28, 2015, at Smithboro Baptist Church in Monticello. Interment will be held in Fullerton Memorial Gardens in Monticello. Rev. John McDuffie and Rev. Joe Ezzard will officiate.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jesse Davis, Kyle Davis, Tony McMichael, Raymond Ellison, Chris Mason, and Tommy McMichael.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015, at Jordan Funeral Home.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers donations be made to Smithboro Baptist Church 314 Smithboro Road, Monticello, GA 31064.
