Several Have Probation Revoked
Judge William A. Prior, Jr. had a light docket on the motion day calendar to begin the new year in Jasper Superior Court Tuesday, Jan. 5.
The majority of the cases reviewed were probation revocations or modifications, a bond hearing, and a few civil cases.
Joseph Fay Massey, II was granted a bond of 50,000 for several counts including armed robbery, possession of firearm during commission of felony, possession of hydrocodone with intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of marijuana.

Matthew Ford, sentenced to 180 days in the state probation detention center for new offense of obstruction of an officer in Newton County on May 27, 2015 and is behind in court payment of fines.
Monica Rooks Bostic, ordered to pay $1,000 by April 5 or return to court for further action.
Kent Morris, sentenced to 180 days in jail for failure to report to probation office after being released from parole in August 2014.
Kelly Denise Walker, removed from the pre-trial diversion program for driving on suspended license in Jasper County on December 3, 2015. Her original offense was of battery/reckless driving in August 2015.
Lois Marie Gignac, sentenced to 60 days in jail for new charge of public drunkenness and failure to submit a random drug screen on December 10, 2015. Also, instructed to enroll in substance abuse classes within one week of release. Original offense was for pedestrian under influence of alcohol in September 2015.
Walter Mead Carter, sentenced to 43 days in jail for failure to complete alcohol counseling sessions and testing positive for alcohol and cocaine on December 17, 2015 in random drug screen.
Jerome Lamar Reid, sentenced to 60 days in jail for failure pay court fines, failure to enroll in family violence intervention program, and testing positive for amphetamines and alcohol on December 17, 2015 during random drug screen.
Tommy Lee Kell, sentenced to 60 days in jail, with 30 days suspended upon payment of $365, for failing to pay fines and new offense of disorderly conduct on December 23, 2015.
Judge Brenda Trammell presided over a very light Jasper County Superior Court docket on December 15.
Cases reviewed and action taken included:
Aubrey Denise Norwood, sentenced to three years in confinement which was suspended upon entrance into an completion of the Baldwin County Adult Treatment Court Collaborative (ATCC) program. Another seven years are to be served on probation for two counts of theft by shoplifting, one count of interference with government property, one count disorderly conduct, and one count of simple battery. Fined $1,000.
Austin Hunter Adams, sentenced to 12 months probation for theft by taking. Fined $500.
Two bond orders were set. Justin Bostic received a $75,000 bond as a result of charges including possession of cocaine, an open container violation, and three counts of inmate possession of prohibited items. Baba Baldeh also received a $75,000 bond for two counts of armed robbery.
A modification of sentencing for Charlie Victrum was reviewed and granted. The original sentence ordered in May 2015 was modified to 20 months in the Jasper County jail. With credit for time served since February 2015 and “half time” granted, Mr. Victrum was released in December.
Marvis Wyman had his probation modified to include 180 days in a state probation detention center rather than 180 days in jail for an August 27 offense of obtaining items without consent of the sheriff.
Telly Banks also received a probation modification of 180 days in a state probation detention center in lieu of 180 days in jail for a shoplifting charge in Newton County in November 2015 and failing to report to the Central Dekalb Probation Office on several occasions.
Judge Trammell also reviewed several civil and child support cases as well.
