Several Are Sentenced
Charles Frederick Willis received a sentence of five years in confinement for failing to register as a sex offender during the January 12 session of Jasper Superior Court presided over by Judge E. Trenton Brown, III.
Mr. Willis, who was under previous probation terms, failed to add his name to the Jasper County registry list in December 2015.
Also receiving a confinement sentence was Jennifer Michelle Poore for several drug charges including two counts of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of a schedule IV controlled substance, and possession of dangerous drugs with four additional charges nolle prossed. The sentence was for a total of 10 years of confinement with the first 180 days in jail which was suspended upon entry into a regional substance abuse treatment center and credit for time served between July-October 2015. The remainder of the confinement is suspended upon successfully completing the long-term in-patient substance abuse treatment program.
Other sentences include:
Oscar Jenkins had his probation modified to serve 90 days in jail which was suspended upon entry into a probation detention center for 180 days. He failed to report to the probation-parole supervisor as directed and pay court fines.
Kyle Battaglia was ordered to pay past due court fees by February 2016 or serve balance of his sentence in jail.
