FOOD BANK CHALLENGE

Employees at the Bank of Monticello are proud to do their part to “fill the window” at the Monticello-Jasper County Chamber of Commerce with non-perishable food items for the Jasper County Community Food Bank.
To help contribute to this campaign, employees are permitted to wear jeans on Wednesdays and Saturdays in exchange for a donation of five canned goods or non-perishable food items. Along with this supporting this worthy cause, Bank of Monticello employees pay $5 every Friday to wear jeans and raise money for local organizations such as the Food Bank, Jasper County Care Corps, Senior Center, Mentor Program, ML&J Fund and several others in our community.
Bank of Monticello would like to challenge other businesses in the area to be in support of our local charities and organizations. “So many in our community depend on these organizations and we feel it is our duty to help out!” said the announcement from the bank. The Monticello News is accepting the challenge from the bank, and wants our readers to help. For the remainder of this month, persons can get a new subscription or renew their current subscription for just $25 (in county) with the donation of two or more canned or other non-perishable goods. Help us fill the window to feed the hungry, and don’t miss out on any of the news—subscribe today, and help others who may be less fortunate.
