Nellie Grace Noble Gotel
Nellie Grace Noble Gotel, age 67, of Monticello, passed away Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, at her residence.
Nellie Gotel was born January 31, 1948, in Butts County, Ga. to the late Charlie, Sr. and Lillie Maude Sims Noble. She was a graduate of Henderson High School in Jackson. She married Raymond Gotel on December 27, 1969; and had just recently celebrated their 46th anniversary.
Nellie joined Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church in Jackson, at an early age and later, moved her membership to St. John C.M.E. Church in Monticello. At St. John C.M.E. Church, she served as the Co-Chairman of Pastoral Aide Ministry and was a dedicated stewardess. She was very devoted to her church and loved serving the Lord.
She worked for Oxford Industries for a number of years and retired after 22 years from The Smead Manufacturing Company in Locust Grove.
Nellie enjoyed spending time with family, cooking, and reading her Bible. She always had a smile and conversation for everyone; and never met a stranger. No matter what type of day you were having—good or bad; Nellie was guaranteed to make you laugh. She was definitely the life of the party!
She is survived by her loving husband, Raymond Gotel of Monticello; children, LaTonya M. (Tracey) Little of Monticello, and Raymond C. (LaToya) Gotel of Suwanee; grandchildren, Tristian Little and Kaden R. Gotel; brothers and sisters, Charlie Noble, Jr. and Henry Noble of Jackson, Rufus Noble of College Park, Eugene Noble and Ethel Ammons of Flovilla, and Bobbi Travis of Jenkinsburg; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016, at 2 p.m. at St. John C.M.E. Church in Monticello. Rev. Dr. Lavonia McIntyre will officiate.
The family asks in lieu of flowers that donations be made to St. John C.M.E. Church, 240 Key Street, Monticello, GA 31064
