Mary Kathryn ‘Katie’ Worley Jordan

Mary Kathryn “Katie” Worley Jordan, age 83, of Monticello, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016 at her residence.

Katie Jordan was born in Sugar Valley, Ga., to the late Sim McClain Worley and Kathryn Cooley Worley. She was a graduate of Middle Georgia College. She lived in Gray for a number of years before returning to Monticello in the early 1980s.

Mrs. Jordan was an active member of the Monticello First United Methodist Church; and a former member for over 30 years of the Gray United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Birthday Club in Gray.

Katie Jordan retired from the Jones County Board of Education.

A brother, Jack Worley preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband, Reuben Linton Jordan of Monticello; son, Lee (Denise) Jordan of Monticello; daughter, Lisa Lynn Jordan of Riceboro; grandchildren, Kathryn (Mike) Davis, Benjamin Lee Jordan, Kellee Jordan and Kyle Jordan; and great-grandchildren, Kristen Sherwood, Katie Cason and Camilla Douglas.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, at 2 p.m., at the Monticello First United Methodist Church in Monticello. Interment will be held in West View Cemetery in Monticello. Dr. John Brown and Rev. Nathaniel Long will officiate.

Serving as pallbearers will be Earl Colvin, Steve Nelson, Benn Jordan, Malone Cunard, Kyle Jordan, Brick Nelson, Cecil Ethridge and Frank Pool.

The family will receive friends Friday, Jan. 29, 2016, from 6 until 8 p.m., at Jordan Funeral Home.
