MS Diamond Cougars Tie Brentwood

Piedmont Academy’s Middle School baseball team opened a new season with a 5-5 tie against Brentwood last week.

“It was our first game of the year and it showed us where we need to emphasize more of our work and how we can benefit the kids better,” said coach Cameron Vaughn.

Tate Marks was the starting pitcher and worked two innings. Owen Brady then pitched the third inning followed by Davis Bishop and Dawson Coe each throwing an inning.

Cameron Mobley, Tate Marks and Caleb Coffey helped lead the offense.

The Middle School Cougars traveled to Bethlehem Christian Academy Monday and were able to play three innings before the game was called due to darkness with the Cougars leading 3-2.

Zach Spivey handled the pitching duties and was credited with the win. Marks had a triple while Brady collected an RBI. Dylan Coe and Dawson Coe both had singles. Dawson Coe also drove in a run.

The Middle School Diamond Cougars will host BCA for a doubleheader on March 14 beginning at 4 p.m.
