Cougar Track Begins

The Piedmont Academy varsity track teams were scheduled to begin the 2016 season March 9, at Briarwood Academy in Warrenton.

Both the Cougars and Lady Cougars will also compete at Brentwood Academy in Sandersville on Wednesday, March 16.

Competing for the Piedmont boys this spring will be seniors Chris Cain, Chris Coogler, Ben Davis, Cameron Hammock, Clay Kirkpatrick, Noah Quick and Zach Wilson. Juniors include Mack Brady and Michael Edwards.

Sophomores Corbin Burrell and Parker Clark, freshman J.T. Webb and eighth graders Browning Benton and Owen Brady will also compete in various events for the Piedmont boys.

The Lady Cougars have one senior in Amelia Dodson and one junior in Bailyn Whitaker.

Sophomores include Alexis Dodson, Sara Hammonds, Anna Knox, Taylor Patterson and Caitlyn Young along with freshmen Neely Bradford, Cassidy Cook, Sydney Davis, Gracie Hunt, Maddie Morton and Lucy Tuggle.

Eighth graders Gracie Black and Mallory Boyd are also competing for the varsity girls. The Piedmont track teams are coached by Traci Brady and Rick Ringer.
