Middle School Cougars Earn Wins

The Piedmont Academy Middle School baseball team ventured to John Milledge Academy last week and emerged with 6-3 and 2-1 victories.

In the opener, the MS Cougars received a strong pitching performance from Tate Marks, who worked the first three innings while recording nine strikeouts.

Owen Brady was brought in to pitch in relief and closed out the final three innings with three strikeouts. Brady did not allow any runs.

Caleb Coffey helped lead the offensive attack with two doubles and a single while driving in three runs. Brady was 3-for-4 with two singles and a double while Dylan Coe was 3-for-4 with three singles.

In the second game, Piedmont was leading 2-1 when the game was called for darkness after the second inning. Cameron Mobley was the starting pitcher and recorded six strikeouts. Brody Anderson had a two-run single in the first inning.

The MS Diamond Cougars will travel to Gatewood Monday for a 4:30 p.m. contest in Eatonton.
