MS Cougars Split Doubleheader

Piedmont Academy’s Middle School baseball team split a doubleheader against the Ace Gryphons (Macon) last week at home.

In the first game, the Cougars won 6-5 when Dylan Coe had the game-winning RBI. Dawson Coe pitched three innings, striking out four batters.

Tate Marks then pitched the last two innings and had two strikeouts.

The offense was led by Owen Brady, Cameron Mobley, Dawson Coe and Caleb Coffey, who each went 1-for-2. Dylan Coe was 2-for-3 and Zach Spivey had a 2-for-2 performance.

The second half of the doubleheader saw the Middle School Cougars losing 9-2 when the game was called due to weather conditions. David Bishop, Mark Hicks and Andrew Parish all pitched an inning while Dylan Coe worked the final inning.

Mobley and Payton Wallace were both 1-for-2 at the plate.
