RETIREMENT

The last day on the job for Monticello City Manager Peggy Billerman was last Thursday, March 31. Mrs. Billerman wanted to slip out quietly so no big party was planned, but a small surprise reception was held Thursday afternoon. Mayor Bryan Standifer presented her with a plaque for her years of service to the city, and current and former members of the council, staff, family members and others went by to bid her farewell. The city council has narrowed Mrs. Billerman’s replacement down to three candidates and is slated to make a selection soon.
