FATALITY

One person was killed and another seriously injured when an 2003 Dodge pick-up truck wrecked Sunday afternoon. Multiple emergency vehicles from Jasper County along with the Georgia State Patrol responded to the call. One person was airlifted (above) to an Atlanta area hospital, and the other was declared dead at the scene. The truck was traveling east on Pitts Chapel Road when the driver, Henry Knight, exited the road on the south shoulder, then over-corrected, and ran off the north shoulder striking several trees, according to the report from the Georgia State Patrol. The Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT) investigated the accident. Brian Stewart was the passenger in the vehicle who was killed.
