Thefts Are Reported; Arrest Made

Jasper County deputies responded to numerous thefts in the last week, including a burglary in progress on Deer Run Circle in Newborn. There they arrested Kenneth Lee Rickett and charged him with burglary and public drunkenness.

They also responded to the report of a burglary on Morrow Road in Newborn where firearms totaling more than $50,000, and $10,000 cash was reportedly taken.

They responded to three burglaries in town, including one on Church Street, where cash and important papers were taken and one on Madison Street where cash and checks were taken. They also responded to a report of a washing machine being stolen from a Tucker Circle address.

Other thefts were investigated in Hillsboro, Mansfield, and on Blue Heron Drive in Monticello.

•Casey Allen Powell, 18, Monticello—possession of marijuana less than an ounce headlight violation.

•Melissa Ameretta Morris Freeman, 38, Rutledge— driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, endangering a child by driving under the influence of alcohol and open container.

•Jamie Leanne Blackmon, 36, Monticello—driving while license suspended or revoked.

•Kenneth Lee Rickett, 37, Conyers—burglary and public drunkenness.

•Justin Thomas Marling, 21, Newborn—wearing mask, hood or device which conceals identity of wearer and reckless conduct.

•Porsche Shneque Epps, 24, Monticello—hold for warrant in Henry Co.

•Chelsea Jane Pace, 17, Monticello—disorderly conduct.

•Anthony ONeal Card, 31, Monticello—battery.

•David Sebstian Ransel, 36, Gainesville—probation violation.

•Chelsea Nicole Davis, 23, Newborn—contempt order.

•Johnny Richard Horton, 23, Covington—probation violation.

•Jamie Leanne Blackmon, 36, Monticello—driving while license suspended or revoked.

Also, during the last week, deputies were called to more than 450 calls, including 54 serve civil papers, 47 premises check, 35 traffic stops, 27 direct traffic, 17 pick up prisoner or subject, 14 stopping suspicious person or vehicle, 15 fights, 14 trouble unknown, 13 accidents, and 12 alarms.

They also responded to eight domestic disputes, seven calls of subject needs officer and mechanical breakdown, six assist motorist, five be on the lookout, welfare check, loud noise or party, fraud, and numerous other miscellaneous calls for service.
