Mrs. Rosemary Marks Tinsley
A celebration of life for Mrs. Rosemary Marks Tinsley was held on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Springfield Missionary Baptist Church 837 Hillsboro Street in Monticello. Rev. Jimmy Horton, pastor, delivered the eulogy. Burial was at South View Cemetery.
Rosemary Marks Tinsley was born July 30, 1950 to the late Willie James and Primrose Marks. She died May 19, 2016.
Mrs. Tinsley joined Springfield Baptist Church at an early age. She attended Jasper County Training School. Rosemary worked as a cook at Jasper Memorial Hospital for 30 years until her health declined.
Mrs. Tinsley was preceded in death by her late husband, Ernest Tinsley; sister, Grace Annette Jackson; brother, Larry Marks; special friend, Robert Smith and step-mother, Gwendolyn Marks.
She leaves to mourn, one daughter, Brenda (Nate) Watson of Monticello; two sons, Eric D. Tinsley of Monticello and Gregory (Veronica) Tinsley of Covington, seven sisters, Betty (Larry) Thurman, Willie Mae (John) Barkley, JoAnn Ellis, Jackie Bell Smith, Lorraine Cherry, Ethel Jones, and Margaret Gilmore, a brother, Enrickie T. Jackson, nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, three sisters-in-law, Diana Marks, Dorothy Tinsley, and Bonnie Smith; one brother-in-law, Rudolph Clements; two aunts, Beatrice Sanders and Mattie Pearl Smith; a host of nieces, nephews, step-children, cousins and friends. Also, two devoted family friends, Linda Whitlock, and Jeffery Ross.
