Kathryn Ann Gaulden Paschal

Kathryn Ann Gaulden Paschal, age 89, formerly of Monticello, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon.

Kathryn Paschal was born on October 3, 1926, in Camilla, Ga., to the late Carl Emmett Gaulden and Ruth Freeman Gaulden. She was a graduate of Camilla High School, attended Valdosta State College in Valdosta, and graduated from the University of Georgia with a BS in Home Economics and a Masters in Education. She was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority.

She was married to L. Hubert Paschal, Sr. who preceded her in death. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Emmett Gaulden, Jr.

Mrs. Paschal taught school for more than 20 years in McDuffie, Wilkes, and Jasper County. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gama Society. She was an active member of the Monticello Baptist Church for 51 years until she moved to Macon after the death of her husband. In Macon, she was a member of the Tattnall Square Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons, L. Hubert, Jr. (Jeanie) Paschal of Eastman, and Carl E. (Cathy) Paschal of St. Simons; grandsons, Justin Paschal, Jarrett Paschal, Christopher Paschal, and Cole Paschal; sister, Carleen Gardner of Park City, Utah; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 27, 2016, at 3p.m. in the Chapel of Jordan Funeral Home. Interment will be held in West View Cemetery. Dr. Robert Whitmire will officiate. Pallbearers are Justin Paschal, Jarrett Paschal, Christopher Paschal, Cole Paschal, James Gardner, and Jay Gardner.

The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. Friday, prior to the service at Jordan Funeral Home.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Monticello Baptist Church, 334 W. Greene Street, Monticello, Ga. 31064.
