Arlanaster ‘Lank’ Williams
Homegoing services for Arlanaster “Lank” Williams, who died June 9, 2016, were held Monday, June 13, at noon at New Enon Baptist Church in Godfrey. Rev. Bernard Hamp, pastor, officialted. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Williams was born on November 24, 1947 to Mrs. Mamie Bell Williams and the late Sammie Lee Williams.
He received his education in the Morgan County School system. After school, he worked for Franlin Veneer of Farrar. He enjoyed listening to and playing gospel music. His favorite song was, “O Mary Don’t You Weep.” He also enjoyed working in the yard.
His brothers, Willie James Williams and Sidney Williams preceded him in death.
Arlanaster leaves to cherish his memories, a strong loving mother, Mamie Bell Williams; brother, Samuel Williams; sisters, Willie Bell Stewart of Farrar; Fannie Lee Dennis of Monticello; Minister Mary Louise Gude of Hillsboro, and Margaret (Ronnie) Smith of Shady Dale; two sisters-in-law, Minnie Hicks and Annie Williams; two aunts, Grace Mae Scott of Conyers, and Hattie Horton of Madison, along with a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Smith and Sons Funeral Home, Monticello was in charge of arrangements.
