Benny Lee Davis

A celebration of life for Benny Lee Davis, who died June 20, 2016, was held Saturday, June 25, at Shiloh Baptist Church in Shady Dale. Rev. Jimmy Horton officiated; burial was in Shiloh Cemetery.

Mr. Davis was born on April 3, 1934, in Jasper County to Ce’ester and Garfield Davis.

“Uncle Benny” lived a life filled with love and laughter. He had a kind and gentle spirit. Benny never complained, if asked, he always said, “I’m okay, I’m alright!” He joined Shiloh Baptist Church early in life. “Uncle Benny” enjoyed his family, music and listening to the word of God.

He was preceded in death by six siblings, Willie, Steve, J.B., Jeff, Mattie Dudley and Maggie Lou Davis.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his family, a host of nieces, nephews, a brother-in-law, and many cousins and friends.

Smith and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
