Richard Molden Tillman

Richard Molden Tillman, age 77, of Hillsboro, passed away Friday, July 15, 2016, at the

Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon.

Molden Tillman was a lifelong resident of Hillsboro, Georgia. His parents were the late Luther Marshall Tillman and Estelle Jackson Tillman. He was a member of Hillsboro Baptist Church.

Molden Tillman owned and operated Tillman’s BBQ along with his late wife, Emmie Lula “Lou” Hunnicutt Tillman, who passed away two months ago. Prior to owning the BBQ restaurant, he operated a welding company making trailers. He also worked for several mining corporations.

Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his step-son, Steven Allen Hammond; and brother, Gene Tillman.

He is survived by his daughters, Felicia Thomson and Sonja Knowles of Eatonton and Belinda Brantley of Milledgeville; step-daughter, Deborah Hammond Leggett of Milner; grandchildren, Rachel Bailey, Ben Brantley, Dwayne Dalton, Richard Knowles, Tabatha Frost, Elicia Manken, and Lauren Dorough; and great-grandchildren, Stormy Yawn, Richard “Chase” Knowles, Abigail Manken, Gabriel Yawn, Rebecca Brantley, Benjamin Brantley, Jr., Trevor Dalton, Katelyn Dorough, and Ashley Dorough; and brother, Jack Tillman.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at the Hillsboro Baptist Church in Hillsboro. Interment will be held in Fullerton Memorial Gardens in Hillsboro. Rev. Len Woodward will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at the Hillsboro Baptist Church.
