Foster Home Fund Raising Goal Is Surpassed

DR. DEGARMO WITH SIGN

The foster care residential group home Never Too Late wrapped up its five week capital campaign last week, surpassing its goal.

Campaign chairperson Kim McMichael said, “Our original goal was to raise $65,000, with all money designated to pay for the renovation of the home. I am excited to announce that we raised $75,000, with much of the money coming from here in our county.”

Never Too Late director Dr. John DeGarmo, pictured next to the campaign sign, says that the renovations will begin this week.

The group home will care for boys who are placed in foster care and who live throughout middle Georgia.

Dr. DeGarmo went on to say, “Even though we have not opened our doors yet to these boys, we have already had phone calls from some child welfare agencies across the state. The need is so very strong for a home like this.”
