Cougars To Scrimmage Friday

With the official start of the new season now just a little more than a week away, the Piedmont Academy varsity football team will get a chance to line up against another opponent this Friday for a scrimmage.

The Cougars will host Trinity-Sharpsburg for a “controlled scrimmage” beginning at 6 p.m. Coach Wes Tanner said Friday would be a co-practice to start but the teams would then “rumble a little at the end.”

“It will be nice to line up against someone else,” the coach said.

Piedmont players have been getting accustomed to the heat which has been an issue dating back to May. After the first day of practice, heat-related issues have been a minimum.

The regular season begins Friday, Aug. 12, when the Cougars travel to Bethlehem Christian Academy for an 8 p.m. kickoff. The game is scheduled to start 30 minutes later to try and combat the heat.
